Keep your hardwood and laminate floors looking clean longer by doing the following:
- Do not let sand, dirt or grit build up. They can act like sandpaper and actually abrade and dull the floor finish.
- Keep pet's claws properly trimmed to avoid excessive scratches and gouges.
- Never over saturate a wood floor. Too much water can cause your floor to swell and cup.
- Do not use wax, oil soap or other household cleaners on your polyurethane finished wood floor.
- Do not use the Mohawk FloorCare Essentials Cleaners on paste wax finishes.
Protecting your Tile investments:
- Vacuum or sweep regularly to remove any dirt or grit.
- Remove spills promptly using a clean, dry Microfiber cloth and clean residue from spill with Mohawk FloorCare Essentials Tile and Grout Cleaner and a clean microfiber cloth.
- Use felt protectors under heavy pieces of furniture and chairs.
- Use protective mats at all exterior entrances.
- Cleaners should never contain acids or ammonia. Acids can damage the grout and the glazed surface of the tile, and ammonia can discolor the grout.
- For removing grease, soap scum and mildew stains from grout joints see your flooring retailer for a professional strength grout cleaner.
- Never use oil soaps or wax to clean your tile floor.
- Protect your floor when using a dolly for moving furniture or appliances. Never slide or roll heavy furniture or appliances across the floor.
- If you need to remove sealers or waxes from your tile floor see your flooring retailer for a tile sealer and adhesive remover.

Carpet and Rug Stain Removal:
- Treat stains as soon as possible for best results.
- Completely blot up wet areas with microfiber cloth.
- Do not rub, as rubbing may alter the carpet texture.
- To successfully remove any liquid based stain, it is important to keep as much of the soil as possible from penetrating into the carpet.
- Spray the Mohawk Carpet Stain Remover directly onto the soiled area.
- Agitate cleaner into the carpet pile by gently stroking the stained area with the rounded edge of the Carpet Cleaning Key. Wait 1-3 minutes until the soil loosens.
- Blot by pressing straight down with a microfiber cloth. Work from the outside of the spot to the inside.
- Continue to spray and blot until the stain is gone. Do not over saturate carpet - use small amounts of solution and blot frequently.
